What you may do with a B Optimal product depends on how you came to it. Three documents cover three different relationships. Start with the one that describes you.
Not sure which applies?
If your college or university licensed the product, the institutions terms govern, even if you also bought a copy of something yourself. If you bought it and no college or university is involved, then individual terms apply. If you did not buy or license anything, the website terms apply.
How our licensing works.
B Optimal licenses its institutional products to nonprofit educational institutions on a twelve-month term. Each license identifies the products included, the departments or programs covered, and any additional services selected.
Renewal is affirmative, not automatic.
Our Notion-based products are sold to individuals rather than licensed to institutions, and are governed by the Individual Product Terms.
Across all three documents, some things stay constant: we do not transfer ownership of our materials, learners own the work they create, and our tools are built to a WCAG 2.2 Level AA design target without a claim of certified conformance.
Privacy.
Our Privacy Notice applies to everyone, whatever your relationship with us. It covers what we collect on this website and on our hosted product sites, how it is used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be shared.
These pages summarize how we license our work. The agreement and order form accepted for a purchase specify that institution’s coverage and applicable terms. Updates to these pages do not change an existing agreement.
