Institutional Licensing and Use

B Optimal Consulting provides digital learning tools, frameworks, and implementation resources through institutional licensing agreements with nonprofit educational institutions.

Our materials are not sold as individual consumer downloads. Instead, institutions license access to the Metacognitive Moves System and related tools for use within approved academic and student support contexts. 

• These licenses authorize institutions to use B Optimal materials within approved academic and student support contexts.

• All materials remain the intellectual property of B Optimal Consulting, LLC.

Because licenses provide immediate access to digital resources and implementation materials, they are governed by the following terms.

Access to Licensed Materials

Once an institutional license agreement is executed and payment is received, the licensed institution will receive access to the appropriate digital resources and implementation materials associated with the license.

Access may include:

• digital learning tools and templates

• facilitator guides and implementation resources

• institutional deployment materials

• workshop or training resources included within the license

Delivery of these materials constitutes fulfillment of the license.

Authorized Users

Licensed materials may be used by individuals within the licensed institution, including but not limited to:

• Currently employed faculty and instructors

• Currently employed tutors and tutoring center staff

• Currently employed academic advisors and student success coaches

• Currently employed program administrators and staff

• Currently enrolled students participating in licensed courses, programs, or services

Use is limited to internal educational purposes within the licensed institution.

Permitted Uses

Under an active institutional license, authorized users may:

• Use B Optimal tools in courses, workshops, tutoring sessions, advising meetings, and student success programs

• Provide access to students enrolled in participating courses or programs

• Integrate materials into institutional learning environments (such as LMS platforms or program resources)

• Adapt supporting materials for internal institutional use, including formatting or branding adjustments where appropriate

Use must remain consistent with the educational purpose of the license.

Prohibited Uses

Unless explicitly authorized in writing by B Optimal Consulting, the following are not permitted:

• Reselling or redistributing B Optimal materials outside the licensed institution

• Sharing tools or materials with individuals or organizations not covered under the license

• Using materials for commercial consulting, coaching, or training services

• Removing copyright notices or attribution from materials

• Modifying or repackaging materials for external distribution

 

Intellectual Property

All B Optimal materials, including tools, frameworks, instructional resources, and implementation guides, are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Ownership of all materials remains with B Optimal Consulting, LLC.

Institutional licenses grant permission to use materials, not ownership of the materials themselves.

 

Access and Distribution

Access to licensed materials may be provided through:

• institutional implementation resources

• secure digital access provided by B Optimal

• institutionally managed learning environments (LMS or similar platforms)

Institutions are responsible for hosting and sharing licensed materials through institutionally managed learning environments that are only accessible to authorized users covered by the license.

 

Refund Policy

Because institutional licenses provide immediate access to digital materials and implementation resources, all licensing payments are generally non-refundable once access has been granted.

If an institution experiences a technical issue that prevents access to licensed materials, B Optimal Consulting will work with the institution to resolve the issue promptly.

Refunds may be considered only in rare circumstances at the sole discretion of B Optimal Consulting.

License Term and Renewal

Institutional licenses are valid for the duration specified in the licensing agreement.

At the end of the license term, institutions may choose to renew access through a new licensing agreement.

License Modifications

If an institution wishes to expand the scope of its license (for example, adding additional departments, programs, or campuses), B Optimal Consulting will work with the institution to modify the license agreement accordingly.
